PickMyGenerator is an independent Texas site with one job: help homeowners understand outage risk and backup power honestly, then connect the ones who want quotes with licensed local installers.

Where our information comes from

Weather alerts come live from the National Weather Service. Grid context references ERCOT's public system-wide generation data. Cost and sizing figures are curated from public manufacturer and industry sources and updated periodically — they are educational ranges, not quotes.

How we make money

When you request quotes, we may be paid by the licensed installers we connect you with. That's the business model, stated plainly. It never changes the educational content: sizing math and cost ranges are the same whether or not you ever request a quote, and we don't accept payment to recommend specific brands.

What we are not

We are not an electrical contractor, do not perform installations, and do not sell equipment. All work must be performed by licensed contractors, and every installer we work with is license-checked against Texas TDLR records.
